Job Description
We are seeking a Finance Assistant to provide accurate and reliable support for our daily finance. In collaboration with the Finance Business Partner, you will handle purchase and sales ledger transactions, issue invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with payments, receipts, and transfers.
Your responsibilities will also include completing bank reconciliations, maintaining precise financial records in Xero, and supporting credit control, reporting, audit preparation, and-end and year-end processes. Additionally, you will respond professionally and helpfully to queries from colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and customers. Some hybrid working options may be available after successfully completing your probationary period.
About You
You will have practical experience of purchase and sales ledger work, bank reconciliations, financial record keeping and supporting month-end activity.
You must have GCSEs, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above, together with a relevant finance, bookkeeping or business administration qualification or equivalent practical experience.
You will be confident using Microsoft Excel, including formulae, sorting, filtering and pivot tables, and understand the importance of confidentiality, data accuracy and GDPR. Experience of Xero or similar accounting software and an AAT qualification, or progress towards one, would be an advantage. Just as importantly, you will be organised, reliable and able to communicate clearly while delivering accurate work to agreed deadlines.
